This post is going to have a lot of poorly lit, of focus, bad, bad pictures. I was taking them in a hurry on my crappy phone camera that probably had a fingerprint smudge on the camera lens for an extra dose of crappiness. So prepare yourself!
After work today, I decided to stop at an antique store that I haven't been to in a few years. I was looking for a few very specific items to give as Christmas gifts to some collectors in my life.
I found an item that was perfect for one person within two minutes of entering the store. But then immediately after, there was an announcement saying "Just a reminder that we are closing early today in 15 minutes for a staff and dealer party. Please come back tomorrow at 10." And I was like "Noooooo!" So I practically jogged through the store in the short amount of time that I had.
I didn't find the other items I was looking for because I didn't have enough time, but what I did see were TONS of quilts. I can't believe how many there were! One of them was made out of what looked like remnants of polyester shirts from the 70s, and I swear even bits of a few leisure suits. It was a treasure! I was a little sad at some of the low prices. Some much time and love and talent go into making quilts, and they often aren't as appreciated as they should be. A couple of them did have higher prices that I was happy to see.
I'm definitely going to have to make a return trip to this store to get a closer look at some of these quilts. I'm sure there are more there, because I only saw about a third of the store before they kicked me out. And Pyrex! Oh the amounts of Pyrex in this store made my heart go pitter patter!
